Hmm, which one has the Scroll Bar property set to Yes, the form the tabs are sitting on or the forms sitting on the tabs?  Also, is there anything to scroll to?  Sometimes if there is nothing to scroll to then they don't show until there is enough records.

And yet another thought... what is the Border Style of your form set to?

The scroll bar property set to Yes is the main form, the form the tab is sitting on.  (There are Scroll Bar properties for the tab, the tab pages or the sub control.  There is one for the actual subforms on the tab, and they are set to "Both".)

Yes, there is something to scroll to.

The Border Style is set to Sizable.

Thanks,

Matt

Hmmm, then lets try this to make sure it's just those forms and not an issue with corruption.  Create a new form, put nothing on it and set the Scroll Bar property to Both and see if they appear or even a place holder for them appear.

I think Gina is onto something.  This actually happened to me not too long ago and I ended up having to import all my objects into a new db shell to fix this issue.

I found the same problem with a form I had designed.  I found that all of the objects were located in the "Form Header" with nothing in the "Detail" section.  As an experiment, I moved everything to the "Detail" section and what do you know; the vertical scroll bar appeared!

NOTE: I did need to reset the events to the VB code to the controls with Events, seems they are reset to nothing when moving them from "Form Header to "Detail".  It worked out OK just select the event procedure lost, click the "..." button and it reattached to the VB code.

Lots of Luck
Jim

I am posting this information to anyone else that is having this issue....

In previous versions of Windows OS it was the display DPI setting that caused the scroll bars to disappear:

96 DPI scroll bars appear normal.

125 DPI scroll bars disappear.

After running into this problem a couple of times with different Windows OS's.

The scroll bars disappear due to DPI settings:

Access 2010 scroll bar issues

Scroll Bar Issues

I am having an issue with scroll bar behavior in my access database. The database is to manage requests for our unit. I built a navigation form "home page" and in that home page is a navigation button that links to a subform containing our request information.

My issue is scrolling in that subform. At 1680x1050 resolution I can disable the scroll bar on the main home page (it isn't needed) but if the resolution is lowered the scroll bars for the subforms no longer scroll to the bottom of the form, so I am forced to enable a total of two vertical scroll bars. I'd like it to work like a website and just force them to scroll more vertically if they chose to use a lower screen resolution.

What properties do I need to do to fix this?

Okay... I sat down and looked at my co-workers settings. They are using the 1680 x 1050 resolution, but they have the Windows 7 DPI setting set to 125% instead of 100%. I figure the fix will probably be the same but I wanted to update the information.

I'm aware that alter DPI settings like that can mess up control displays, but any help anyone can offer is much appreciated.

Windows 7 64bit Access 2010 64bit

Another update;

I changed my settings to 125% and duplicated it. The issue of scrollbars not appearing happens on every form and report displayed in that "home page," however, if they are opened on their own they display the scroll bar correctly and function correctly.

Access 2010 Navigation Pane Scroll Bar

When I use the scroll bar in the Navigation pane, the scroll refuses to stop
at the selected item, but instead moves several lines away.
I've seen this issue mentioned under Access 2007 with a hotfix solution.
But it is also happening in Access 2010.
I can't find any reference to SP's or hotfixes in the MS Website under Acces
2010.
Anyone else having this problem?

I believe I have found the general purpose solution to this.  A co-worker was having this problem.  It turned out that his DPI was set to 125%.  On my PC, the DPI is set to 100%, and I have no problems.  I adjusted his to 100% and problem solved.  From what I can gather, the hotfix does not account for this, but it's uncertain to me.  At any rate, if you don't mind 100% DPI, this will work.

Hi

I had the problem in a subform.

But after requering the subform-control on load, the vertical scroll-bar is shown.

Don't know if this will help anyone, but I came across this problem today.  Maybe this is common knowledge but it was new to me:

If your form is in "datasheet" view you will not get scroll bars.  Set it up to LOOK like a datasheet in continuous forms and you will get scroll bars.

If you do not see scroll bars on the form, most likely Scroll Bars option is set to Neither, in Design, right click on the form, go to properties, Make sure Form is chosen from the drop down menu, go to Scroll Bars and change it from Neither to Both, then both scroll bars will show
